Eighty days around the world is one thing, but twelve to eighteen months around America is another. Alan and Tracy Morris have already set off on what should prove to be a mammoth exploration of the Americas. They plan on avoiding the US as much as possible, heading for more remote regions and are keen to experience as many different cultures and places as possible.

On Sunday 10 June, Alan and Tracy left New York behind on the way to Montreal, Canada. They hope to catch the Formula One Grand Prix whilst there and begin the tour with style. After a city existence north of the border, they will head further towards what Tracy's anticipates as 'Grizzly bears and venture beyond the arctic circle," in Alaska.

After travelling down the West Coast, passing Vancouver, Washington, Oregon and California the daring duo will disappear into the third world, where "the adventure should really begin." Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Nacarague and Panama and then Ecuador, Peru and Chile will respectively become home for the couple. The trip ends with a journey from the southern most point of Terra Del Fuego up the east coast to Rio De Jeniro. The mystery of the Amazon jungle will probably tempt the travellers away from their path for a while.

Readers of this page will be able to keep in touch with the Morris' journey. Tracy Morris has promised to send regular updates on the wonders of the American continent. She plans to supply a detailed account of some of the amazing places she and her husband find along the road. The London Mall wish them the best of luck for a happy journey.
